I don't think the problem is the window, or it's treatments. I think the problem is the light fixture you have over the sink. It doesn't "hold the space" well. It's too small relative to it's type. I'd replace it with a modern 3 headed track light fixture, in a silver metal (like a brushed nickle). I think you'd be pleased at what that would do for your space.
Also...get a cooler/larger/more interesting faucet. If budget allows.

Thanks, I agree the light fixture needs to be larger - we are waiting to change the hardware on the sink when we change the countertops and black splash. Any suggestions on what material besides granite to use for the countertops - I just feel everyone does granite and I would like to do something else and do glass tiles along the back walls.

Quartz counter tops are a great alternative to Granite. They require no maintenance, and are less susceptible to scratches and marking than granite. Quartz is usually a bit more expensive than Granite, but lack of maintenance required (no annual re-sealing!) makes it comparable in the long run. Some popular brands include Caesarstone, Hanstone and Silestone quartz. With your cabinet color, I recommend something light with a bit of texture, paired with a plain subway style class wall tile, such as the attached options. Alternatively, it can also work well to use a solid color counter top with a textured wall tile to keep the tile as a visual focal point.

On the window, I would consider switching the fixture for one or two recessed style pot lights, and really drawing attention to the window and the window coverings. Just some food for thought.

I vote for 3 pot lights. And get white shades. The dark brown shade color draws the eye up and makes the focus on the shade. If the shade was white it would disappear because it would blend in with the window trim and the focus would be on the lovely window instead.

I would remove the shade or do a matching white. The light does seem undersized.

Replace sink light with a pretty pendant

I would pot lights because the window isn’t centered above the sink. If you hang a pendant, you’d have to choose either to hang it centered with the window or the sink.

The dark cabinets are rich-looking. Balance the darkness with countertop items. Replace wood and dark accessories (brown knife block, brown salt cellar, dark blue planter, etc.) with white or clear accessories (like elephant planter on sill), or pear green, or cherry red accessories. Store knives in a knife drawer.

I would change brown double shades for one whitish one to be hung right above the woodwork. The current arrangement adds an awkward look to a lovely window. Recessed lighting would be best but simpler to find a horizontal fixture as suggested.

Very pretty window with a lovely view outside. I would leave it naked.

I would replace the light with three of those thin panel lights. Looks like it should be very easy to install because of the soffit. Any hanging light is going to detract from the pretty window and view.
