I don't see that much can be done with the table (except maybe spray paint the legs in a matt finish black as a start). You could also cover it with a tan and white print table cloth that (even if you have black legs) complements the chairs. I think I would just go on Craig's List and find an inexpensive but good looking wood table to replace this one. I think I might go one step further and spray paint the chairs as well. I know most people don't think of black as a color appropriate to a beach house, but you would be amazed at how well it works. You have nothing to lose if you do that as an experiment because the current look is so dated.

It is SO back in style that you don't need to do a thing to it! It's lovely, actually. And, please, stop taking so much style direction from Houzz. It's a style of the masses, not unique expressions of classical training.

Surely the glass top just lifts off. You could find another base--two saw horses or two barrels instead of the brass base you might also use two large colorful planters in cool colors.

tear out the carpeting. This would look good on a wood floor, or wood-look tile floor. Here is a sketch of something similar.

I agree about painting the legs. You'd have to sand them so the paint would adhere, and then use a good spray primer and paint such as Crylon. We prefer that as Rustoleum has some issues with their spray nozzles. You can get Crylon spray paints at WalMart for less than $4 a can.

For the table top, I'd put a nice tablecloth on it if you don't like the glass.

maybe you can replace the legs. but the table top is not that bad.

Or leave it as is and just add a mix of interesting chairs.
