Two patterned chairs in front of the window, with a table and lamp between them. Solid couch floats across from them to enjoy conversation and the view out the window. Blinds on the window with panels on the sides. Coffee table between the grouping if room. Art between the higher windows....tall and narrow.

Personally, I would keep the wall color until the furniture is decided upon and then choose a color to work with it. The good thing is, this is a neutral color and will not fight and it might be ok to keep, too.

Looks like carpet in the room? I am not a fan of a rug on top of carpet, so I say no rug. I like a rug if the floor is bare as it does help anchor things.

You'll need to paint the trim on the large window the same as on the other windows. Pretty view outside!

Painted, huh? It would be nice if you could get something to tie in with those awesome beams!

We are on piers so we are having a hard time figuring out what floor would work since we do get shifting so we painted the sub floor til we got the projected done still unsure of flooring. Thank you for pointing out the trim on the window we over looked this!

Cork is a good option! It is just very hot in summer and not the best if wet feet walk through allot. Another one is Vinyl! (I can hear everyone go BOO!) But having a place near water its great! And today there are some many luxury options for finishes. Wood to Tile effect. good luck :)

Thank you for your help I will go out today and start looking at Vinyl.should we keep the recess lighting any thoughts
  • 12 years ago
Absolutely - keep the lighting! I would just put a dimmer switch on them (if you don't have one already) And then additional lighting like Standing Lamps and Table lamps. This way you can chose the mood in the room. :)

Paint some wall decals on one side of the wall and get a comfortable sofa for the living room along with some wind chimes to put in front of the window and a carpet to adore the floor. You can also visit http://www.northhomegallery.com.au/ to get more ideas on how to decorate this room.

The window is nice & wide you could have a bench in front of it & arrange other furniture accordingly!
