Hey thanks so much for asking. Had to fire the contractor and do it on my own. There were some dark nights. I give myself a B- overall. Ended up close to what we were looking for. Can't really complain, but it didn't turn out like your beautiful project. I learned a lot though. I'll look around for the hooks, I too would like a little antique look in there. Cheers

Well, the previous colors (built 1940) were black and pink, but that green you got would be just fine too. You know, the old school tiles that all 20's / 30's houses had... Thank you so much!!

Laura, went to Anthroplogie and found three of them, various colors. I'm stumped on how to mount them however. Can I ask how you did that? Also, once mounted, how do you keep them from hitting the wall when the door is open? Much much thanks!

Sorry it took me so long to answer...been slammed! You need to mount them into the solid part of the door "frame" (that's why these are mounted so "high" on the door). These doors are older and "solid" and some doors are not. Good to know the difference. If they are hollow then you may need to use a block of some sort. When mounting into a solid member, use a good grip screw. As far as hitting the hooks on the wall...an extra long door stop is always a good idea. I know they're so fragile...so we added one too!
