Sounds like you already know what you want, perhaps update the lighting as well.

Hi - The granite is very nice. Darker cabinets (espresso-color) should help tie together the floor & counter colors. Get rid of the soffit & get cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling. Replace the light fixtures - there are tons of options that aren't too expensive. I think all that would go a long way to making the kitchen more modern & attractive. Good luck!

Yeah the lighting has to go lol I am just torn between a expresso or cherry color. Also, what kind of backsplash would I use? I am not a very good decorator at all
