An architect would be able to provide an overall vision and through the construction process while an interior designer can help with finishing touches.

We have a great interior design staff as well as construction team. Some people like to work with architects, but you could really go to either. Interior Designers are well-versed in space planning and specialize in creating new interior spaces. The benefit of going with an interior designer (not decorator) is that all of your services can be provided at once. They can do your space planning and provide you with a new floor plan as well as specify all finish materials and furniture layouts.

Certain architecture firms also have interior designers on staff, and the team can work together to create the exact look that you want. Its really up to you. Just make sure that you are not working with a decorator. There is a difference between interior design and interior decorating.
