So I have all these great ideas to cut cost on the build of our future home, like using an old dresser or sewing table for a vanity, Using a feed trough for a bathtub, an old pot for a sink & the response I keep getting from the builders is "That's not code" !! How do people do this kind of stuff if its not "code" ?? What makes a tub, vanity or sink "Up to code" ?? I could save some serious money implementing these unique re-purposing ideas but I keep getting shot down! Can someone please explain .... ? TIA!
