Do you mean the kicks under the cabinets or just the baseboards around rest of room. And by the way I have been designing kitchens for the last 27 yrs and have used Ikea in my own plus about 20 other kitchens in that time and they are all still up and running and look great there is nothing wrong with them. As for the window sills unless you have deep ones that you are going to use for plants i would just leave them and not install granite on them.
