Do I need an end cap on my kitchen backsplash tile?

We are having a glass tile backsplash added to our kitchen. White counters, black granite countertops and taupe(ish) colored walls. Two of our counters are open ended. Do we need to have an end cap (not sure if I'm calling it the right thing) to cap off the glass tile? Or are we ok to just let the tile end naturally...with nothing finishing it off?

A cap or bullnose tile is not typically used for an open end as it is generally not available. The grout will create a finished look to the cut edge of the end tiles.

You don't need an end cap or metal "L" channel if
1. the thinset is an even thickness behind the tile (requires a flat wall)
2. the grout is well done

If there is a different finish on the tile edges than on the surface of the tile (polished surface vs. etched, frosted edges), you may or may not want to use an ending device. That's your call.
