I love seeing our designs come to life! This new construction staircase by Design Connection, Inc. is one of our latest projects in the works.

Homeless people? "There will always be poor among you". If you are worried about ostentatious levels of money being spent, I don't think you should be surfing Houzz.com.

I am very thankful for customers who have money with a desire to spend some of it because they hire people like me to build /remodel nice things for them. I in turn, hire all my great subcontractors to execute the work. The city gets a permit pulled, which in turn creates tax revenues. (Which finances government services we all enjoy)

In summary, home-building and remodeling encompass the entire circle of our economy in a very real and practical way.

pressboard today must be much better than it was way back? Why would someone spending that much money on a beautiful staircase skimp on that?

They could take in a few homeless people. That house looks enormous. Ostentatious .

Its beautiful! Obviously a lot of work goes into designing and building a staircase such as these.
Kim- almost all the houses featured on this website are expensive, and may be ostentatious for your taste but this website is all about beautiful house design and that's it!! Its not political, perhaps it is frivolous, but some of us enjoy looking a these beautiful homes.
Everyone of us can do more for the homeless but that's a separate , although very important issue.

Thank you all for your comments and questions on our staircase design! This staircase was constructed with solid wood; no pressboard was used. From the stairs extending into the wall to using only the highest quality materials throughout, every square inch of this grand home was custom designed specifically for this client.

While some have called this home "ostentatious", my client calls this home "My Dream Home". As an interior designer whose career is founded on creating custom designs, those are the words I strive to hear. Thank you all for your comments reminding us of "the circle of design". A large project like this benefits more than just the homeowners!

What type of flooring is used here? I am assuming marble but can you clarify? Thanks!
