Can the can be opened manually? I do not want an automatic pail.

    The trashcan can be opened manually as long as the power switch is not turned on. If the power switch is turned on and an outside force (ie. a person's hand) opens the lid cover, it can create tension in the gears which can cause the hinges to break or weaken.

    I once had an automatic pail which worked fine but it was very difficult pulling the already filled garbage bag out of the compartment. Plus when you removed the top to pull out the garbage bag I was careful not to cut myself with the sharp edge located around the inner rim of the pail. I once cut myself badly.

    @adelfa311, our trash can do not have any sharp edges inside the can body. Also, this recycle trash can equipped with 2 removable buckets for effortless trash bag removal.

    @anhela, when the recycle trash can is fully opened, its height is about 31 inch.
