That's very well said Patricia : indeed a nice mix of modern(countertops and glass tile backsplash) and traditional(cabinets). However I have to say : a little too much white. I think I would add a little color contrast

A design is all about an individuals preference in style. The cabinets could use an update and remove some of the glass. Add a contrast in cabinet color to the bottom set.

It is a nice place overall. There are couple of things that bother me. Around the hood: kind of symmetrical arrangement that is not symmetrical. The corner unit reads heavy. And the other thing is the tile. Very linear and streamlined comparing with the gentle curve of the mullions. I dig the juxtaposition but it is a bit harsh.

The traditional (ie: ledge over window, glass application in cupboards, appliance storage area) don't work for me with the modern elements (vent hood, counter, backsplash). I like how the kitchen in photo is modern, but has a traditional feel.I would have gone one way or the other with the specific elements you have selected. houzz=]

It's a gorgeous kitchen, but for my personal preference; I would choose a different backsplash, remove the appliance garage and I would not do a waterfall counter. I tend to prefer a more traditional look.

I'm not a fan of appliance garages, especially when the toaster is sitting outside of it. The hood could have been more traditional, as in millwork. The all glass doors is a big commitment. perhaps only using them flanking the sink? you asked...

I do not like the choice of the range hood at all in this kitchen. It is an overall attractive room but the waterfall stone treatment, for me, is contradictory to the glass front cabinet style. I like less clutter on surfaces, but that's just me. The charming cottages on the ledge, again, seem in opposition to the waterfall edge of the counter top. Pretty room, though.
