I'm wanting to paint the brick If I leave the trim and the concrete accents the color they are as well as the turquoise door, what color do you suggest?

painted brick will not go with columns and arches. this house is just fantastic as is. im thinking a different color front door. as the blue is just looking dark in these pictures. pale yellow....door.

You would cheapen the look of this fantastic house! Paint the door, paint some planters but please do not paint the brick.

    seriously?

Painting the brick would be a big mistake ... your house is beautiful! Agree with Flair that a different door color would look nice.

another vote for do not paint the brick.

You would seriously undermine the architectural integrity of this house-and probably diminish it's value if you painted this brick. It's one thing if the brick detracts from the home in some way-like it's been patched a lot, or there are mismatched ones-but the brick on this home, just going by the photo, looks like it's in good shape. Also, once brick is painted, you will have to keep painting it, but-the thing is, that there are limits to how many coats of paint can be applied-and then they could need to be stripped, and when you do that, you are going to degrade the brick, because, frankly, you can't "strip" the surface of anything without removing some of it. Brick, unlike wood that is naturally connected together, is a collection of separate pieces that are "fired" at a high enough temp so they meld together. Remove part of it, and then the other parts will lose some of their cohesiveness.
So, paint the door a brighter color as others have suggested. Add some colorful flowers-maybe even put some colorful cushions, or flowers, on the side porch-but please leave the brick it's natural color.

Every mediterranean house I see is a color. The brick on this house has been repaired many times. You can't see in pick. A lot of the mortar is different colors. We had the portico taken down and rebuilt. The color of the brick doesn't allow the beautiful concrete accents to stand out. To me it's very blah.

I believe those houses you've pictures might be stucco, not brick. I would fix the mortar issues and add you Mediterranean colors in trim.

Yes they are stucco. I'm just talking about color.

I feel ya Lesli! We have horrible red and black brick around our front door and it drives me mental! Our house is modern, but the brick is dated and ugly.

I know people always say not to paint brick, but they don't have to live with it, you do. And if it turns out horrible, you still have to live with it

I like your house, I agree with the others change out the door to a nice yellow like they mentioned or the roof colour would look nice to. Once you have the door painted add all the extras in that colour! I won't paint the brick, as some mentioned it's a lot of up keep! If you must change the colour, use a deck stain on it. I know sounds crazy but if you read the label it's meant for stone, brick and mortar as well...

With the red roof and steps, I would paint a color similar to the off white trim but one or two shades darker. I would NOT do a yellow door.

Beautiful house. Don't paint the bricks. By painting the bricks, It will lose its beauty. Instead of painting brick, paint lemon yellow or off white color for your doors.

When I bought the house the door was lighter. I'm sorry y'all I don't see where that's better. But thanks for the advise. I'm going to give more thought to painting the house. I've painted every brick home I've lived in and never had a problem with the paint. Here in Texas or I should say this area , painted brick is every where. Thanks again.
