Thanks for all your previous advice. We are almost finished. Final dilemma material to cover fireplace wall (5' W 11' T). Because the family room is open to the kitchen, I thought of covering the wall in a cherry paneling and installing a cherry mantel. I would surround the fire box with black granite tile like on the floor below or match the granite in the kitchen. Any advice for a better plan? Any comments would be appreciated. I have attached 2 photos of kitchen cabinets and 2 of fireplace wall.
