Maybe you might want to reconsider all of the windows. Leave some wall space in the living room and dining room for art.

I have an open floor plan, lots of windows. My view of the Blue Ridge Mtns is the something pretty I look at...and I made sure I have walls in the bedrooms, hallways, and basement rec room to hang my pictures. In the open floor plan I do have a wall in the dining room with built-ins to display some of my favorite things...with room for one painting, which I will swap out so that others may have a turn!

Wow, a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains would be art to my eyes as well.

Hang them from the ceiling on eye hooks???

If you don't like walls, there's not much other choice.

You are used to decorating with wall art. You will need to change your perspective. You will need to hang your art in bedrooms and hallways. If your home will have a basement, you could design one wall as a "Museum wall" for displaying many pieces of art.

While hanging art from the ceiling is certainly an option, it does prove less optimal since you lose the contrasting background that a wall offers. You might consider incorporating architectural panels in the design.

These could be minimal in terms of the actual "wall" and therefore not disrupt the feel of openness. Even using cables or steel rods as supports will add to the feeling of a floating display panel, and not an imposing wall.

i always make sure I leave wall space for art in my designs we have a large art collection and could not imagine no place to handg or display it. We have an awesome view in our place but made sure I had space for art too.
