Horizontal fence design

My wife and I really wanted to spruce up the front yard. We simply had too much grass!! We didn't want to waste water and decided to create a rock garden (In progress) but leading up to our design we decided on building a horizontal fence. We love the look of the horizontal fence... Very unique and really adds character to our home.
We started out designing our fence based on several Houzz pics we searched for.
After a several weeks to months the project began.
We graded the yard, planted some fountain grass and used granite cobble stone that we harvested from our yard turning dirt all summer :)
Running sprinkler drop system as well.
The rest was just a matter of digging holes, concrete posts in, then using a hidden fastening system to secure the fence boards made up of 1x6 x7/8"
I must say the design turned out well as well as the color.

PRO10 years ago- 10 years agoOver the summer I was able to complete the horizontal fence. We also added a dry creek using granite cobble harvested from the yard! Next is finalizing the landscaping.
- 10 years agoThis is the work I had done by my Houzz Professional. Clear cedar at the front with recessed materials where possible.
On the side I asked my Pro to match a similar design to his other work.
Super please and you can also see how the wood at front was cut to match the same width as the cladding on the Craftsman. The edges were also beveled to match the cladding.
