By painting the base a pale gold (either eggshell or satin finish). Then fauxing over the pale gold with a nice nutmeg paint. I normally faux with a paintbrush then use a sea sponge to tap & spread the faux coloring around creating the same effect. I also water down the faux paint for a runnier consistents. Not too thin just enough so it doesn't run when applied. (My mixture for the faux would be; 1/3 nutmeg satin finish paint, 1/3 water lastly 1/3 faux). Hope this helps Ellen.
