I would do brushed stainless tiles for your backsplash.

Take a look at our page! We have a Kitchen section an there are a bunch of different back splashes to look at.

My suggestion, bring home samples... possibly a neutral cream marble? Is this similar to your????

oh. wowzers. that's the closest i've seen to mine so far! thanks for sharing that. whatever they have on their wall is certainly not competing with their tops. I even have a pot rack over my island, but mine is stainless lol.

Okay, don't shoot the messenger, but I have two more options similar to your granite, kinda? ;) LOL I'm just trying to give you visual options. I do like the earlier posted tile. One here kind of gives an appearance of glass, just for an idea......


And I'm not suggesting/forcing the high visual backsplash (aka busy) Just options. :) Even though I don't mind them. :)

I am not that crazy about glass mosaic tiles. I feel they will date your kitchen (as in, "Oh, this kitchen was done when glass tiles were in!")

I would stick with classics (tumbled marble with granite). You can always add some fun accessories.

zazfuzzroc, my husband would love the Northville Contemporary tiles I think. He's the one always looking for different "textures"...always wanting glass/shiny accents everywhere in my house lol. that's why i asked about if glass tiles would work. I don't know how sold he would be on the tumbled marble even though I think it looks nice.

.....now how in the world do i find out where to get those tiles! lol!

I think glass gives such a nice shine, but also the color softly glows from behind. Just a very nice look, I think. :) And believe me I'm a lover of stone. lol :D I think glass would also look nice, I'm not a pro, but would not offer advice on something that I would not consider appealing. gosh. clicking through the other photos of this kitchen...that granite is VERY similar to mine. Mine probably has more orange spots...but is darn close.

I would suggest a glass tile that is about 4" x 12" in a stacked pattern, not subway style. You could look at different colors to see what compliments the granite most, either really subtle like cream tones or more dramatic in any color in the granite.
The glass gives you the finish look that you want with out committing to another pattern. It will reflect light and not take away from your gorgeous granite.
I agonized over choosing a backsplash for a very "busy" counter and the glass was the perfect choice. I love it.

You do have the backsplash behind the sink, which is probably the most important. Behind stove might be another tricky area, but a good washable paint should be fine even there.
