Need help with "hiding" of curtain rods

We are rebuilding our bathroom and are having our bathtubs taken out and replaced with showers. As such, we will have two (2) curtain rods per shower; one of them will hold the plastic curtain facing in and the second rod will be for a nice curtain.

I would like to hide the curtain rods across the top and have thought of building a "wooden" rectangular box to hide the rods. I have seen these also made from or dressed with some cloth, but think wood would look very nice.

If I go with wood, I would stain it to match the oak cabinet in the bathroom. I am also thinking of putting some wood trim, molding around the edge across the top to hide the "edge".

The rod will need to be 59-60" long (5 ft.). and 8 ft. high.

Thoughts?

Blocking off airflow will increase the chances of mildew growing.

Why do you need 2 rods? I've always put the liner and curtain on the same hook. That way when you slide it both move. I also wouldn't advise putting a wood anything around the shower--it would eventually buckle with all that moisture, wouldn't it? Maybe a "hookless" curtain as in the pic would be more attractive to you?

I'm stuck on the fact that you have a large perfectly clear window IN your shower!?! Do you plan on changing that? .. You might as well just put a glass shower door on there as well.

We are not planning on changing the window, that will remain in place. At this point, we don't like the glass shower; the shower is more practical for our kids, visiting family members, keeping the glass clean, and furthermore, having the curtain gives us the ability to change the look from time to time and it is even a more elegant look to us. I like the idea of having a "box" at the top to hide the rod(s) while my wife likes it as shown in the picture above that kmclaugh4 shared.
