Maybe a dark green

I'm with the people who suggested black or a very dark green.

Our red brick bungalow has had a black front door for 25 years but just switched it up to yellow and love it every time I pull in the driveway!

Emkay2 I just love the bright yellow. My yellow is more subtle but I like both!

I would paint only the door black and keep the side lights white. Maybe add new hardware and a new outside mat. Would look classic.

Power-wash your steps, new door mat and a med to dark eggplant on your door.

Blue!! There are a lot of great blues that work with brick. I think Benjamin Moore makes one called Prussian Blue that would work. But like others have said hard to tell without seeing the rest of house front, shutters, etc.

There are a lot of great suggestions but you have to live with it.

I would try a dark peach which will blend nicely with the brick color. You could accent with a dark turquoise or navy. I am in the process of painting our new door in our living room now. Did a template on computer arranging the 3 colors in different places until I came up with one that I like. Am now pleased with the look, but would like it better installed as opposed to in the living room.

I think brown specially the chocolate brownish is nice for front door. So I think it can give warm feeling.

I would use Martha Stewart Cornbread. A nice yellow that's not to bright.

Whatever you decide for color be sure to paint the entire area - door, jamb, side lights, brick mould - not just the door itself. It will look funny if you leave white sidelights and moulding.

As said by some of the others cant see the rest of the house to be sure but I would go with a dark grey/charcoal. Paint both the Door, trim and side panel as well as the storm door to create a great uniformed look. New Ironmomgery would also be advisable. Loose the welcome mat please.

Black

Fire Engine Red would be my choice - Plus red is a lucky colour and very inviting.

Navy blue, or a slightly brighter blue, would be very complementary against your brick.
If possible to power wash the porch, I'd do that. A fresh mat, too, of course.

You might even consider polishing your door off with matte black hardware. Matte Black can really tie the whole look together, especially if you decide to go with a rich color palette.

Farrow and Ball Hague Blue in Full Gloss --divine!

Black, power wash the cement a new mat and 2 planters on each side of the door.

Ok....first off, this is only a quart of paint and a Saturday morning job!

Although I cannot see much of your home, a dramatic update for your entry would be to get a quart of high gloss black paint for the front door, storm door and the 'side lights.'. (2 coats please!).

Splurge on 'antique bronze color door handle/lock set and a substantial door knocker. You might even consider an antiqued door kickplate for the bottom horizontal section of the door. (Also, replace the storm handle as well .. Same finish as door hardware ... Antique bronze. Finish off the look with a grand looking CLASSIC doormat, (www.grandinroad.com) and mailbox. If electric wiring is in place, purchase a black substantial ( read large!) exterior lamp. You will love coming home to this each day! Remember this famous saying... " you only have one chance to make a first impression" and that is the doir that greets everyone! Good luck!

My architect vetoed my red door when we built our house and had us paint it a beautiful dark teal on the green side. I moved or I would add a picture. A pop of color that relates to plants.

Deep Blue/or Teal! The right shade will look gorgeous with brick! May need to add/change some plants to play with it...

Green. A brighy shade

Blue and Blue/Grays do not look good next to red brick. Green or Greenish Grays look outstanding with red brick. Ben Moore Affinity Sparrow is a nice color. So is Sherwin Williams Rare Gray. Also, be sure to choose the right shade of white that compliments red brick. Dunn Edwards Swiss Coffee isa shade of white that works well next to brick. Avoid shades of white with either grayish or bluish tint.

Navy Blue or Black would be a nice option. I would also make sure to use a high quality exterior paint, Duration by Sherwin Williams is awesome. Also think of the shine of the door as in terms of how easy it will be to clean. The more shine the easier to scrub and keep clean. Good luck!

Look up "The Decorologist" as a home design blogger. Paint colors are her specialty and she just had an article about your question.

Color is extremely subjective obviously. In my personal opinion as an architect, whenever I see red brick with white grout as you have it, I would actually prefer a white door. The grout accentuates the white. White is a great color for entry doors in general because our eyes tend to move to the lightest thing we see first, which makes perfect sense for an entry door. We want the entry door to have hierarchy from the curb so people intrinsically know where the front door is and psychologically it just feels good on some subconscious level to have the door “pop”. I just painted my front door blue, and I love it so much! My house has a little of red brick on it.

Wow all these ideas. I read once that you should paint your front door in your favorite color after all it's your front door and it greets you every day, so make it a color that will make you smile. :)

Agree w/Segur. Do your own thing! I painted a big old wooden storage unit in my garage Disney's med. purple and people laughed. Walls were soft white. I loved it every time I drove in my garage I smiled. .. Had house from 50's.. same type kitchen window. Did a narrow vertical blind than could slide open sample as window .. made for some private when not wanting all open. Got rid of hanging light with flush at ceiling. Put string lighting under cabinets. LOVED IT!

black or dark charcoal. You need depth. A classy look with the red brick.

Shiny black. Brush nickel hardware.

Remove awful screen door. Put a retractable one in. Lowes sells.

I would stain the cement porch a dark gray. And get a new mat.
