    What is the custom stain/wash?

    If it's a custom stain your best bet would be to show the picture to a hardwood finisher and see what they can mix or recommend to give a similar look for your home.

    Take a look at Rubio Monocoat finishes, they have several whitewash style finishes. Another option is the Milkpaint type finish.

    Christian Rice Architects - Do you share what the custom stain/wash is??? or is it a SECRET???

    It is not a secret, it's just something I don't have. The exact color was done on site and I don't have the different stain colors used to create it. Sorry! The unfinished floor was created in a local San Diego shop custom for this home. If you show the images of the project to your flooring contractor, they should be able to create similar stains.

    @shamus01...

    Without appearing to "promote" an alternative... if the onsite finishing concept of obtaining this color & look isn't a viable option due to your location, there are some of us who can produce the same thing on a "custom prefinished" basis.

    If interested, feel free to drop us a line at: david@selecthardwoodfloor.com

    Here's a couple of pics illustrating some variations of whitewash on white oak & hard maple.

    I might add that the degree/level of whitewash is adjustable to whatever level the customer desires.
