I like the idea of putting some photos on the wall. Maybe I'll pick a few and do that. I don't care if there are a lot on the table. Each one is a special memory that we enjoy looking at.

The paintings were professionally hung and there is a third one you can't see so the triptych is evenly spaced on the wall.

The foyer, however, large, is also our only entry/mudroom, so we're not putting any carpet in there until the kids are older.

I like lefty's idea of pics on wall, they will get noticed more than in a crowd on the table. Also, what will you do with the stair wall? That could make a difference to what you do with the area over all.

I would put the photos in matching grams and matting up
The stair wall then a large mirror above table and a trunk or box under table or umbrella holder or plant something to add more interest love the paint color

I would edit the pics on the table and add the largest one over the console on the wall
a lamp would brighten the spot and add ing a tray or closed decor box for keys etc. would make the space functional

You should really pick another wall so you can display the photos so they can be seen. You have such a beautiful foyer and artwork. You could put a bench to take off shoes in place of the table. Maybe a gallery wall up the steps.

Editing the table would be fun and make the space more interesting. I hadn't considered the wall behind the stairs. The paint color and wainscoting are only 6 months old, the foyer had been bright blue for the 1st few years we lived here but after a bathroom renovation (master) and install (powder just off the foyer), we needed a new start.

A photo wall would be nice too, I'd have to reframe most of the photos.

We are putting in a mudroom area along the wall opposite the paintings, where the bench and shoes are now. I'm adding a few more photos so you can see what I'm working with: large walls, large floor, and no mudroom for 2 little kids. Ignore the white planter and table next to the front door. They'll go somewhere...

I like to see photos on table tops limited to three in different sizes and layered for interest and to cause one to approach in order to see the details. Large blown up black and white, or sepia-toned photos to work with the birch trees would look great marching up the stairwell wall.

For this space I would suggest placing either a side chair or a bench with a tall plant to the side of it and an oval shaped mirror. Then I would move all those pictures and place them on the small section of wall going up to the landing and them keep them going up along the stairs.

Hang some pictures on the wall. Add a tall , thin lamp.

That is a great space ,I think a nice round table centered in that foyer would look great

since you have these large walls on the stairs , i think you should use them to work as gallery of your memories by hanging these lots of photos on them .
and just little of the in the space above that table .. like these pictures i will attach .
