B d side table should be large and cover most of wall. I like chest type like Bombay, they can be tall since headboard is so high.

Although the scale is a bit off, I still think they are charming and pretty. For a cheap change, get new shades that tie in with headboard style or, better yet, get two new swing arm lamps for the wall that will allow you to add some nice accents to the table like silvers serving trays with some pretty accessories and of course, room for a cup of tea and a good book.

Daisy - do you think you can find a wider antique night table in your area? I've googled both "Bombay nightstand" and "Bombe nightstand" and found these. This is the style of table you need to complete your look. Give it a try - select "Images" and you will find many and where they can be purchased.

I've selected a few that I think would work really well in your space. There are many very fancy and beautiful ones out there - look for simple, not too ornate, so it will work with your current furniture and not compete with your headboard.
Here's another idea - you can put a cut mirror on the top surface - not only will it protect the table's top but will help tie in the mirrored head board and the shine on your lamps.
(I believe a full mirrored table would be too much).

Ward Designs - You nailed the look I was going for! I'd love to get nightstands like the one in number 3, but have had zero luck unless I want to pay $800 a piece for one. Daisy - I saw both of these also - I like the legs on the second one (but it looks really cheap). The burl on the first one would look fabulous with your wardrobe. However, when I saw them I checked the size and the burl one measures 31 inches in Width, 30 and 1/4 inches in Height by 19 inches from Front-to-Back. Can you squeeze in that extra inch? (Move the bed over to the right maybe?) Also how high is the top of your mattress (with covers). This just might work....

There was no size avail on the second one - it looks pretty big and besides, it would look cheap alongside your furniture.

Daisyjc2000, Have you looked at what Pier 1 has to offer? Here are a couple of options that shouldn't overwhelm your budget or the space available in your bedroom, the first is 229.00, the second 279.00.... and sometimes they have items on clearance that are even more budget friendly :-)

Beautiful nightstands but they are too small and out of scale with the bed. Try purchasing two bombe chests which are larger and should fit better with the lamps. You should be able to find the chests (copies of originals) online.

They are nice! However, you could opt for something Hollywood regency done up in antiqued or eglomise mirror for glamour. Or leave the nightstands as is and do a subtle flowering vine grasscloth on bed wall.

I have the same bed and used Modern Masters Metallic paint in Champagne Silver and it works well with the bed. I painted my armoire but you can use it on your nightstands. And I agree with one of the other comments: maybe get mirrors to hang behind the lamps.

mirrored would really pick up on teh mirrord trim around the headboard - or you could do a glass round table see pictures..

I'm not going to do mirrored night stands. I truly think it would be too much mirror and take away from the look of the antique feel. If you're going to offer suggestions, please stay away from mirrored nightstands. Thanks!!

it looks like the headboard has a border of mirrors. if so, i would not use mirrored night stands. i would like wider night stands with more three drawers so that their legs could be shorter but similar in style. another idea would to make a drape of similar fabric to the current drapery and mount it on the ceiling and have it run the width of the nighstands and headboard plus six to eight inches on each side of the ensemble.

I would buy larger, heavier looking bedside tables. The ones you have are not only to small but because they are open they look very ditsy next to the height of the headboard. Behind the new bedside tables I would put antique mirrors. I would size them the same width as the bedside tables and then go very high. You can have a contractor surround the mirror with a traditional applied molding.

Hey! First off great job with your room it looks lovely. There has been some great comments and i imagine that you have made your decision by now. The nightstands don't compliment the bed, although it may be a match to other furniture items. I would suggest maximizing on the nightstands, you can do this by adding en element on the wall directly behind the nightstands or just switch them out.

Very beautiful room--absolutely love that headboard! I think the side table are a touch small, but still work if you want to keep them. I'd put a large potted plant in a deep solid color (dark taupe like that of your drapes or cinnamon, to suggest a two) to the right nearest the window. Add that color into your pillows on the bed.

the bedside tables are too small in scale for this headboard. get chests of drawers that are At least 6-9 inches higher and twice as wide. rococo inspired style or mirrored chests would be great. less leggy more drawers or even doors. Bombe shaped side tables would be great to they have rounded fronts. they will compliment the rounded height of the HB

Thank you to all! I appreciate all of your advice and opinions. At this point, I've decided to keep the nightstands. It's hard to tell in the pictures (room looks bigger than it really is), but when I replaced the current tables with one that is heavier (taller/wider)... it made the room look really crowded. Thanks again to everyone! No other comments or advice is needed, as I'm keeping the tables. :)

I know - no other comments needed, BUT I played with your room on photoshop and wanted to share. I adore your bed. I wish it was in my room - so glam! The nightstands do seem a bit small in scale compared to the bed, but with small tweaks to the colors in the room, I think they'd be perfect. I changed out the lampshades to gray ones, darkened the nightstands, and painted a taupy-brown accent wall behind the bed.

I think that mirrored nightstand tables would look very elegant with your bed and bed frame. The one you have now aren't bad at all but these would look lovely. Take a look at these to get a better idea:

Or the only thing I would do if you wanted to keep the nightstands would be to put an accent pillow that matches the colour of the nightstand which I can't really tell what it is

I would shop at different shops, out of main street. when u see what u really want, ur heart will know. I've done my whole house like that, always use pieces I fall in love with and everything goes together. I'm not into matchy matchy. I think a room looks more collected over years when things don't match. Also shows more of an individual design, not just purchase something cuz it matches.
dressers, different ones instead of same would look great. Gorgeous headboard. the wall color in the showroom pic u showed is amazing as well.
