We recently bought solid American Cherry hardwood flooring for two rooms in our house. It is a matte finish. We laid some out on the floor to see how it looks and it is dull looking because of the matte finish. It reminds me of my redwood deck planks. My question is, can it have a light gloss put on it after it is laid? It came pre finished with the matte finish. Just hoping our installer can add a finish. I don't want to look stupid by asking him if it can't be done, as I ordered it this way because I thought I would like the matte. What do you all think?
