Hi, my living room and dining room including foyer have 12x12 carrara white marble (polished) tile layed diagonally, plain without decroation; dining room is joined to a hallway that leads to the kitchen with 12x12 light red ceramic tile. I really hate this 12x12 ceramic tile for it is difficult to keep it clean. So I decided to change it. My question is: should I use the same carrara marble as living room or should I use 18x18 travertine? I don't like 12x12 tiles and kind of don't like carrara marble for it looks too cold. would a cream colored 18x18 travertine look good with 12x12 marble? currrently i don't have plan to change marble floor.
