Something different to frame a picture, it looks like you are seeing it through a window, must try this myself if I can find old window frame or you could make it

I have stacks of those old sash in my basement. Been using them during my total window restoration project. If I need glass panes or hardware...I have plenty to choose from.

I love the colors you have in the room and believe the flooring is a very nice color too! You have created a nice warm and inviting room. The rug needs to encompass the area without covering up the entire wood floor. However; it needs to be big enough to anchor the furniture in the room. So the furniture needs to have at least the front legs of the furniture pieces sit on top of the rug and depending on how large or small the room is...will also depend on how large the area rug should be. Then we go to color. In your case, the idea bringing in the colors of the furniture into the rug is a great idea...the only thing to keep in mind, is not to get too busy...with too much pattern. I think the green rugs are too much. Depending on the painting, I'd look for a rug with neutral tones taken from the art.

I love the green rugs and I would seek out a print rug not a solid. change the painting with something that is visually more substantial than the beachy one. But if you like the beach painting reframe it with a heavier frame and you will get the same effect. Perhaps change the sofa pillows with a print that also has green in the colors. Now I think the room would pop with a touch of orange if you want to go bold.

some colourful prints with a light matte and dark frames
