need help!

I just moved into house that has a small living room. We plan to buy furniture soon but I need ideas as to what would work in this room especially for the wall that separates the kitchen from the room. The furniture that's in picture will most likely be sold.

1.On wall that separates kitchen from living room, try a console table with a lamp or two on it plus artwork on the wall above the console.

2. On wall where the glass table is currently located, place a TV on the wall over a media storage unit.

3. In the area opposite the TV, place a sofa. It will NOT have its back to the wall but will instead be "floating" in the room. A coffee table will be placed 18" out from front of the sofa.

4. Two chairs will go in front of the window with a small table between them.

Four choices for the wall where the glass table is currently located:
1. Place a folding screen there.
2. Place a desk there.
3. Create a wall of bookcases.
4. Move the chairs to that wall, opposite the sofa.

I like the sofa idea but I don't think there's much room for it there.

You could decorate the wall between kitchen and living room with a large mirror over a console table (nice for when you are entering home as well). Instead of a couch, consider a love seat against the back wall with a floor lamp on one side and table/lamp on the other. An ottoman as a coffee table and an area rug to ground the space. Drapery would warm up the space and if there is room, you could also add a bench under the window for extra seating. If there is a socket, a modern chandelier would also be nice.
