The Platner and Saarinen tulip tables are timeless, versatile and very stylish.

Thank you Manon! Although, the Platner table is to big for my dining room (54" diameter). I need a 42" diameter table. The Saarinen classic table is laminate or marble (the original). It's not easy! :-(

buy a base you like and have glass cut to the perfect size

I've always like this design by Palecek. I have purchased a couple over the years for clients. It can accommodate a 42" glass top which you can purchase through Palecek or have one made by your local glass company. I hope that helps. Charmean Neithart
