Nice space& color. Get rid of the curtains & replace with blinds if you must for privacy. Keep them white, you need to brighten it a bit. Also do something with the plants. Move them from the corner especially the bigger one, put it somewhere more open- I love plants in the home. I think I would take everything off the walls & start again, maybe stick with all white frames and do some family photos; younger kids, older kids, the dog, you & your friends or partner - make it home. Cozy & inviting. Also add some candles...always makes it cozy. Good luck, it's a nice space.

Make your home more about comfort! Tables behind sofas, coffee table for drinks, a big chest behind one sofa for blanket throws, books and maybe a big tray? Even a stack of three old leather suitcases as a drink table? I would group art together. Hang at eye level if just one pic, not so high, and find stuff you like that reflects who you are..not just "stuff". Reading in this room would be hard. An interesting floor lamp, perhaps? Make furniture groupings..tv viewing, card playing, etc. and lastly, consider a larger console for the tv.. Maybe a long, low bookcase? I've sent pics of examples. Oh, and curtains are difficult on French Doors. I'd get pottery barn rods and have them extend so curtains hang completely away from those doors. Use lots of curtain, for a lush look
