Chesterfield Farms grows them regularly and while they don't normally sell to the public you might contact them to see if you can either get some from them of find out who their supplier is.

Were they the yellow ones ? My Mom grew them forever

but when she moved into town the cowhorns were gone .

No Cowhorns (La Crotte d'Ours) are purple skinned with white interior and are a large fingerling shape.
