snow pea problems

I'm growing an Indian heirloom snowpea called "Golden Sweet." The vines have grown well. The blooms are pretty purple. A five foot row, trellised, has given me a couple of nice bowls of peas for stir fries.

But now, just as the vines are about to fill out the trellis, the blooms have begun to shrivel without forming peas, and what few peas do form are shriveled at the end.

I don't see much powdery mildew on the vine, and although a vine or two has yellowed the majority still look fairly healthy.

They did go through a couple of light freezes (which are rare here) and I thought the freezing may have caused the blooms to drop and the peas to be deformed, but the vines keep dropping blooms and making deformed peas even now that the weather is mild.

Does anyone know what's wrong with my peas?

Thanks.

Bill
