I agree with Sam. What weird variety did you plant? Snow peas might not taste so great sometimes.

I checked the box and they are just called sugarsnap peas from McKenzie seeds, no special variety. I love peas and am so surprised about these tasteless ones. I got others to taste them too and they agreed with me, so it isn't just my poor tastebuds.

Do they look like Sugarsnap? Maybe the seed was mislabeled.

Too much water in the pod? What's your weather been like? Enough sun? I don't know that these would be the answer, but if we were talking about fruit, too much water and not enough sun both contribute to bland flavor.

Are we talking mainly about raw peas or cooked peas. My sugar snaps are quite tasty raw and tasty is properly cooked/seasoned.

Weather has been cool and overcast, not a lot of rain or sun. I am eating them raw but boy are they disappointing!

i've got the same issue. Planted what is definitely Sugar Ann sugar snap peas in a newly rotated-to location, lots of bone meal, blood meal, kelp, manure, compost, green grass mulching. But also a lot of rain. So that might be it, i guess.

I have the same issue. I had this problem last year and ended up pulling the plants for the compost. This year, different variety, same problem (different growing spot). Also my regular peas are just coming into picking stage, and they are also bland, eaten raw. These are "Wondo" peas by McKenzie. It is now just the beginning of July and we have had a very wet June, so maybe there is something to that. Great for the wildfire season, not so great for the veggies, I guess. We live in Canada, Pacific west - BC interior.

All peas you buy in a grocery store in the winter are tasteless. I'm looking for a way to add flavor when I cook them.

Peas start to convert their sugar to starch the moment they are picked so are hardly worth buying in a shop. You'd do better to buy frozen peas than 'fresh'. They are frozen very quickly after picking whereas 'fresh' peas can sit around for days, winter or summer.. However, the OP is taking about home grown peas which should not be flavourless. Wet weather should not cause this. Perhaps they waited too long before picking.

Sugar Daddy snap peas are good.

I've grown Sugarsnap and Super Sugarsnap. They are a pod pea, not a shelling pea. The pods are very sweet and tender and sometimes picking them, you eat more than you bring in the house. [g]
