Sorry, but what you propose is biologically impossible. The only portion of that developing pepper that has genetic material from the pollen parent is the interior of the developing seed, the endosperm and embryo. The rest of the pepper, including the outer part, is derived solely from tissue of the mother plant and contains no DNA whatsoever from the pollen parent.

Agree. It isn't possible. But Jalapenos turn purple, red, or even black - depending on the variety of jalapeno - when left on the vine.

The shape is a little unusual but when that happens it is usually the effect of cool temps at pollination.

I thought it was biologically impossible, I have just never see any of my jalepenos develop like that and thought it odd that it was right next to the purple bell. The shape and color threw me off.

Its genetic heritage should be obvious when you taste it. I've noticed that the earliest peppers that form on my plants are sometimes oddly shaped or colored. I usually pick them early because that encourages more fruiting.
