Concrete or Hypertufa?

Some appeared to have color added.

I've made this. Its all hypertufa. One side has already started to age and go green. However its the first time I've tried to incorporate more sand and less peat as I wanted a smooth finish for detail..hence the pink colour. But its because its the first time doing so I am unsure about how this will age and whether the colour will normalize over time as I want all the pinker things to be uniform in colour.....

thanks, its not finished yet. Its just that I plan to do more and want all the tiles roughly the same colour. I was hoping someone had done a project and had some experience of how it ages .

Also what is the best way of making drainage holes for hypertufa troughs? do you make it when you do the tufa or wait a few days for it to set and then do it?

If you're trying to get the mossy, aged look, best way I've heard of is to blend some of the moss with buttermilk and spread it onto the area. Most mosses don't want long periods of direct sunlight, so that would be another consideration.
As for the drain holes, we just use a piece of dowel or broom handle, depending on the size hole needed, when laying in the bottom of the pot. As a rule, we do the bottom first, and can remove the dowels by the time the sides are finished.

my normal tufa ages without the need for anything but I am not sure what happens when you play about with ratios of perlite, peat moss and cement. E.g a few things one year in and you can see the aging...
