what type of wood was used in this particular style gate? Also was it stained or treated?

    This fence and gate are made out of cedar and it is stained with a clear Penofin type sealer for wood.

    how were these posts installed are they bolted to a galv post? if thats the case how far into the cedar post does the galv post go?

    I think these are 'post on pipe' which are sold by fencing companies. I am not sure how far up the galvanized post is embedded (it may vary with different fencing companies) but then the metal post goes into a concrete footing and not into soil.
