soaking corn seeds

We just got a new earthway seeder (can't wait to use it). We usually soak our corn seeds and it seems to increase the germination considerably. What I was wondering is if anyone else soaks their corn seeds before planting them with a seeder and if it would damage the seeds. Since the seeds are soft after soaking I wasn't sure they could be planted with the seeder without being damaged. I would hate to plant all my corn seeds just to find out that they were all ruined and would not come up.

If I can not soak the seeds and use the seeder is their anything else I could do to increase germination?

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
