When did you plant? You said you watered often. Can you define that? How often? For how long?

planted a month ago. started with watering 5 times a day with an automatic sprinkler 7-10 minutes per zone with slight signs of puddling. just now you can see a hue of green if looking from a distance. temps here have been in the 80's, a few days in the 90's. too hot? seeds fried? thanx for your help BP

it takes at least 3 weeks for KBG to germinate, so the green you're seeing is about right.

Unfortunately, you picked a bad time to seed and it might have trouble making it through the summer. Since you have a sprinkler system, you might be able to make it, but you may need to seed again in the fall.

If it's starting to puddle, I'd cut back a little on watering.

thanks BP, you have at least given me some encouragement. What about my original query, why does hydroseed come in faster? and shouldn't my rye seed have come in?

Hydroseed comes in faster because it's already wet so it has a head start.

I didn't notice that you had PR in the mix. I don't know why it didn't sprout.
