I see what you mean about the door opening into the side of the closet but the alternative (short of moving the doorway it's self) is that the door would otherwise open and then block the way into the room. The current placement of the door at least keeps the door from blocking the doorway as it's opened. That closet wall would be a great place for a floor length mirror so your guests can check their appearance before they leave their room. It might also reflect some light from windows outside the room to make the entry into the room seem larger.

Looking at your floor plan I would place the head of the bed on the wall directly across from the closet doors simply because I don't like placing a bed in front of a window. If you place the bed on the north wall it will block the entry into the room to much. You should be able to flow into the room like air without hitting any furniture pieces as much as possible. The dresser should go on the north wall (in the orientation of this floor plan north is at the top). Does that answer your question?

Thanks Memo3...a mirror is a good idea..I was thinking of putting a piece of art there. Not thinking of putting a dresser...might put a bench at the end of the bed,if there is space..thanks for your suggestions.

I agree with Simple Design Ideas I have done that bedroom layout so many times I lost count. It is really better than the ones that have openings all over. Here is one with twin beds but same idea no the less.The beds are on the other wall but it would work against the other.
