I think you could do it. It would need to be in a room with either good natural light, or just good lighting, and the walls and baseboards would need to be light-but not necessarily white, unless you really wanted that much contrast.

Yes - the lighting and how the rooms relate to one another will significantly effect whether your space looks cramped or spacious. Given that the light is good and some of the rooms open to one another (ie: living/dining), I'm partial to clean white floating walls or if that's not possible, the baseboard the same color as the walls. It's a clean modern look.



Do be aware that very dark floors show everything. If that will bother you consider a rich pecan stain instead.
