Don't do it. Go to a hose shop and get it properly repaired or buy a new hose. Air under high pressure can result in serious hurt if that hose lets go.

Hardware store here has compressor hose barbed fittings. Add a male and female... quick connects. Pretty simple.

They need to be properly crimped on. Screw type hose clamps are not secure enough.

I've had screw type clamps for over 10 years,and haven't had a failure yet................and I have 150 psi pressure in my hose..............crimped-on hose fittings are much neater though.........

And a lot safer. The screw type clamps crush the hose and break the jacket fibers. Often, the hose will swell directly ahead of the clamp and become spongy, it is close to failure at this point and could give you a nasty surprise when it does.
