My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    I purchased the system from Stock Building Supply and then had my finish carpenter install and my painter stained and varnished the handrail. An online source such as stairwarehouse.com provides something very similar. You basically pick the spindle style, then pick the handrail style and figure out what pieces you wood need.
