I had a shower with a lot of glass for a while and I started using that Tilex spray after showering and it really kept the glass looking great. No spots! http://www.tilex.com/daily-shower-cleaner/

You could spray the glass with Rain-x to protect it from water spots or another similar product by CR Lawrence. I don't think you will get away entirely from using squeegee, but at least maybe not as often.

Every single time I shower, I squeegee, and then I take a hand towel and I wipe down all the glass. Yes, it's a pain, but it saves you more work down the road. I even use the towel to dry as most of the tile. I have no mold nor crud or anything anywhere in my shower! I can go weeks without a proper cleaning! Trust me, the extra step will save you time and money and sweat!!!

Have you considered doing a light frost on the next shower? This will alleviate the spot problem!

Thank you everyone!! I will try your various tips, I find them all quite helpful. I am definitely going to use this forum again with such prompt and good suggestions.

The rain-x works well, helps prevent build up and water evaporates better.

Now a days a treated glass for showers is available, which is easy on the cleaning bit , lemon juice with salt also cleans glass n mirror perfectly !

We have very hard water and I have had good luck with a vinegar (1/4 cup) & water (quart) mixture. You can even make that a bit stronger. It is amazing how well that cleans the spots off the door and the tile as well. Must say, the rain-x sounds like a good idea - thanx.

I recently had a conversation with a window washer that comes to our business. He told us that there is a product that glass companies have that is buffed on shower doors and windows that make the glass repel water. It would be a lot like the Rain-Ex but professionally applied and longer lasting. You may find more info if you Google "Hydrophobic water repellent for shower doors", or call your local glass company.

A sealant is a great idea and I would definitely pay extra. And for now, I'll try the Rain-x or Tilex.

I did this recently with the shower install and never have to clean

wd40 is a water repellant. spay it on then wipe. It will look greasy at first but will soon clear

I squeegee every time. I don't even notice the time it takes. It's second nature now!

Jeeze, two minutes to squeegee the doors and tiles...simple. Microfiber towels can be your friends too.
