I would move right into the Tailor Made room. :)

Jeffers Design Group got my vote. Never can pass up small touches of orange. Looks very comfortable and homey.

I voted Kylemore Model Home, although Gerstien was very close too. I like all the rooms, each have their own special features but Kylemore won the vote for the calming colours and room size, plus the tall ceiling and windows make it feel more spacious. I feel it is easy to get comfortable in that room :)

My vote goes to the Early Eichler Addition. I love the indoor/outdoor transition. When can I move in?
I voted the Tailor Made room, because it's calming to the mind and soothing to the eye. The style and color of the sofa is more in keeping with my taste. I could come home from a hard day of work, sit relax with the doors wide open, and listen to the birds sing! I love the Gold Coast Penthouse also, but The Tailor Made room took my heart.

I voted gold coast. I'm not a huge fan of the drapes or the stripes though. I like the ample seating and intimate and cozy feel of it. I love the ottoman and the books.

I like the clean, modern feel of the Early Eichler Addition project.

My vote went for Rainforest Lane. I lean heavily on traditional looks anyway, but I love the fire place and the french doors on each side leading out to the deck. It feels cozy but still feels light.

I am with Dytecture on this one. i love the clean sweep of space in Early Eichler. It's light and airy and who wouldn't love a family room that opens up onto a pool? This one especially has those large doors to the outside.

I instantly fell in love with the Gold Coast Penthouse. It is a timeless decor that is filled with books, color and pattern. The natual light makes it a wonderful room by day and cozy warmth by night. The other rooms look trendy and cold.

Gold Coast for me!! Ideal for families with kids!! Would love to curl up with a book right away! However a better print which speaks to boys and men instead of the usual stripes!
The Early Eichler is a beautiful concept. But need to change decor to make it family friendly!

Sharp corners, loads of expensive and breakable accessories and an ungated pool...none of these rooms would be suitable for a family with an energetic toddler.
Gold Coast is the only one with halfway adequate reading lamps. Doesn't anyone read anymore? :-) The rest of the rooms didn't appeal to me. I'm with michigammemom. They weren't styled for real families.

I kept expecting to see Ozzie Nelson. Adequate for on set filming, then fold it up and put it away. Just no desire to use it.
I voted for Rainforest lane... it is just the right balance between stark and cluttered. It looks cosy and comfortable, with lots of room to move around. Tasteful!
I find the Tailor Made room warm and personal -- a true "den."
Oooo, the Eichler addition! Clean lines, lots of light, open floorplan, great connection to the outdoors...puuuuurfect.

The Tailor Made Room is a very liveable room for adults or children, has a restful feeling and interesting choice of color and fabrics.
I voted for Tailor Made, but also liked the colors and comfort of Gold Coast. The only thing I didn't like about Gold Coast were the window treatments. I detest draped swags.
for my tastes and lifestyle, a family room is to be together, read, and relax. Tailor made room met all those needs for me, with a nice blend of modern and traditional and my favorite colors. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Gold Coast home felt overdecorated, fussy and garish, nothing relaxing about it.

Stylish, yet approachable. Adults and children can live in this room.
Love this room and doesn't make me cringe when I think of my little ones running around in it. Where did the sofa come from? I really like it
  • 14 years ago
Early Eichler Addition - Klopf Architecture for it's clean lines and colours chosen and ability to work as a room for the entire family. A family room is a room that is used all the time for all the family. As it's a high traffic area it's probably best to stay away from white and have space for people to gather, laze on the floor, play with toys or board games on the floor, use the floor space for a fitness dvd or wii sports, relax in and settle in for a movie night.

The Kylemore model home is so quietly elegant. The color scheme is restful, beautifully in contrast with light and dark, and the scale is perfectly defined! This is perfection to me!!! Great job!

I voted for the Kylemore Home.Love the Colors, grey tones are my favorite right now.

Odd because they're so vastly different, yet I find myself stuck between Gold Coast and Rainforest...it's a sort of rivalry of the rich, layered setting of the older couple who has lived, learned, loved and traveled, vs. the new couple just starting life together.

I almost voted for the Gold Coast Pent House but voted for Tailor Made. Honestly both are wonderful, it just came down to personal taste.

While they are all beautiful, I have to vote for 'Gerstien - Ray Venice Home - Carolyn Baylon Design'. It is the only one that looks comfortable and versatile for any family event whether it be watching a movie, listening to an impromptu jam session or watching the chef in the open kitchen. Nicely done and a little retro too!

I voted for the Gold Coast Penthouse - love colors and layers of textures. It just looks like a REAL room you can live in with a whole family. Really love the red ottoman as the coffee table - scrumptious! and love the books. My second favorite would be Tailor Made - I tend to also like the slightly cleaner lines, scandinavian/contemporary-ish. But my heart and soul would be in the Gold Coast Penthouse, with the layers, books, and "real-life" feel - you can tell a lot of living and history are going to happen in this room.

Gold Coast is too much, but I voted for it because there are enough bookshelves for me and my books!

i was very surprised at the results! my fav was Early Eichler...i mean honestly...its all open to a pool and clean and uncluttered...very relaxing. I could really clear my mind and relax here...where as the others make me feel slightly stressed and tense. I thnk because there is too much going on and it makes me feel like cleaning up. But cleary i am in the minority on my vote.

I voted Eichler because at least sofa looked comfy. No place to put a drink down however.

Really kind of a no on all of them: Gold Coast was fussy, Gerstien had a very uncomfortable looking sofa, glass coffee table to show all dust and finger prints, plus a tv at a very high angle (god save my neck). Kylemore: only one person watchs tv, and from very far away. Rainforest and Taylor just looked too "staged" for me.

LOVED THE COLORS IN GOLD COAST JUST OVER THE TOP ON WINDOW TREATMENTS AND ACCESSORYS. TAILOR MADE WAS MY FIRST CHOICE. EXCEPT THE COLOR OF PILLOWS ON SOFA.

Gold Coast Penthouse is extremely inviting and very cheery! Cozy cozy cozy...

I would like Gold Coast better without so many bookshelves, makes it look to cluttered.
I forgot to mention...what is it with putting a TV up high? Aside from a hospital room, I don't think a TV should be above eye level.

Love the rich colors used in Gold Coast but I would pare down the assessories.

Look how old this is, but how we still love these rooms!

I love the feel of being outside like the Early Eichler Addition - Klopf Architecture gives but I prefer the decor of Tailor Made - Jeffers Design Grouop.

I voted for Tailor Made as well. Family rooms should look like you want to throw yourself onto the nearest chair or sofa and not worry about anything. This one has that look.
