Next time, rent fencing and fence off the trees -- the minimum is at the dripline.

Equipment operators AIM for trees. Not only has this doofus damaged the above ground portion of these trees, but has tracked all over the root/soil system. That, in my opinion, does far more damage than the dozer dings.

Next time, you should not only rent that fencing (as in heavy duty wire fencing), but make the contractor sign a contact stipulating $$$ damages if the fencing is breached and trees/soil system damaged.

There is no recommendation for wound dressing, by the way. Best to leave the tree to its own defenses. The soil/root system is what you should be worried about, seriously.

Mee three. The compaction will take several years to weaken the trees, then if bad enough a slow decline. Couple that with bark damage and you shouldn't wager on the tree health.
