Need help with my Kitchen!

Not sure where to start.....do I leave the "floating cabinets" or tear them out? Where can I add storage space? Fridge is kind of lost on its own, no idea where to put it....Over all I need help!!! Obviously this kitchen isn't working for us.... lol :)

So my idea is to blow out the "floating" cabinets to open up the kitchen more. I'd like to add an eat up bar with lighting just above. Wouldn't mind painting the cabinets white and change up the handles...I'm totally out of ideas for the lonely fridge...

By removing the "floating" cabinet it would open the space up. I notice you do lack storage and have high ceilings. You can use that to your advantage. You can purchase unfinished cabinets to put on top of existing and use them for those non everyday items. You can either sand the existing cabinets and stain all the cabinets a color without as much red tone or paint. I would not paint them white unless you plan on changing out your appliances or countertop. That would be way to much white. You could paint the cabinets a dark shade, even black. I recommend changing the paint color to a cool tone. Think greys. The color change would help. Not sure how much room you have at the end of counter but with the upper cabinet removed, which could possibly be used at the end with a added counter top, you could utilize this space as an eat up bar. Changing the hardware (hinges and pulls) will help. You can also use undercabinet lights for better task lighting.
Ofcourse if money was not an issue, you could move the stove to the middle area and move refrigerator where stove is located. Check with a local plumber for a quote. Might not be as bad as you think.

Good Luck. Post pictures of what you have decided. Would love to see finished product.

Get rid of the floating cabinets and replace them with floating/open shelves, that way you still have space for storage while opening up the space.

Next, you should take the remaining cabinets all the way to the ceiling. This will add greater height making the kitchen appear larger. Try using glass doors especially for the top most cabinets to make the place more airy and open, since the space is small. This will also allow you to easily see the items you don't normally use for the times you do need them.

Use cool color for the wall paint to open the space. Cool colors give the illusion of a larger space. Try light grays, cool whites, pale blues or pale mint greens. Also repaint the cabinets

Remember that the kitchen does not have to be limited to that small section simply because it's sectioned off. You could actually clear out that area with the purple chair, and child seat to extend the kitchen all the way around. Maybe even add some floating shelves opposite the fridge to help incorporate the refrigerator. Or create a tiny seating area to eat.

I've attached some pics for better illustration.

Thankyou both so much! Never thought of moving the fridge to where the stove is and the stove to the middle...might be worth looking into, thx. Also love the idea of cabinets all the way up, would look great and the storage would be a bonus!
I find the window/fridge area to be such a challenge. Not sure how I feel about floating shelves...I don't like the idea of blocking the windows...and what makes this area even more of a challenge is that the door coming into the kitchen from our deck is our main entrance, so we also need some storage for coats, shoes, bags etc...... ;( Too much for a small space?!
