Hi everyone,

I recently found this tree on a walk in a small village here in the UK and I cannot identify it. I'm generally ok identifying trees but this one is really usual, at least for this part of the world.

I got an unripe nut and it has a super hard shell inside of the husk. The shell has 7 sides and the nut is quite pointy. I managed to taste a bit of the unripe kernel and it is sweet, like an unripe walnut however the tree looks nothing like a walnut nor a pecan. Can someone help?

Thank you.
