Need help with our kitchen :-)

We are finally closing on our new home on Friday!!! The kithen is an eye sore. We don't have the money to do everything we want right now, but I would love your ideas on how to freshen it up and make it livable for the next couple years. I was thinking of painting the cabinets and updating the hardware. I would love to hear your ideas! Thank you!!!
