Thank you Reed for your quick response. These paintings are very nice, although the link didn't work. I'll try googling the name. What appealed to me in the one above the mantel was the way the colors were put together and lack of detail. Just beautiful.

Looks like you've got some good leads. The painting is original, in the owners collection but do not have the artists name.
