Tremendous First Year!

Last winter was my first Wintersowing. I must say I am amazed! I planted out about 125 containers. Of those, about 5 didn't sprout (and three of those five had VERY old seeds.)

My garden has never looked better. I grew a million annuals, perennials, herbs, tomatoes, tomatillos, peppers, and cucumbers. I had flowers that I had never even heard of just growing everywhere.

I had so much more than I had planned on that I ended up having to put in a new garden just to accommodate them all!

And next spring, when my perennials start blooming, it is going to be even better!

To any lurkers out there, start collecting your milk jugs! And when next spring rolls around, you are going to be hooked!

Great job, Erica. Now you are to have to learn how to post pictures so we can see the results. Have you gotten into seed trading online yet?

Oh you're hooked and on your way to at least 3-4 years of glory, upping your container count next year (and then again the year after probably) until you become just plain OUT OF DIRT like me and many others!!!

The seed trading is really fun - look for the big fall swaps on the Round Robin forum. Get out there and collect seed, and if you need any help, just holler.

Good job, Erika!
I had many successes this year and the failures I was pretty confident what I did wrong and can correct next year. took detailed notes also (have a lot of dead time at work to write notes). Here's to Ws'g 2010/2011!!!

Thanks guys. Actually, I do check the seed exchange forum, but haven't tried the round robin forum yet. Most of my seeds were SASE seeds from seed exchance last year. This year, I should have lots to trade.

Here are some pictures from the garden this year. Most of these were wintersown. I haven't uploaded pics any since July. Things look a little different now.
