Design Style

I am just beginning the process of building a home. Everyone keeps asking me what my style is...and I don't have a good answer. I know some basics that I like/don't like but what is the best way to figure out the name for the style you like? I know I can look through photos but I almost want a little tutorial as to what styles connote what, etc.

There is a great series of articles/ideabooks on Houzz that should help you identify the components of different styles. Go to the "Ideabooks" link on the top menu and type in "So your style is". A number of articles by Lisa Frederick should pop up. There is also a series just on kitchens called "Kitchen Workbook"
